School Introduction - NUMed Malaysia
Newcastle University established the Newcastle University School of Medicine (NUMed) International Campus in Johor, Malaysia in 2011. The school offers undergraduate degrees in Medicine (MBBS) and Biomedical Sciences (BSc), as well as opportunities for basic and graduate research. The study courses are the same as those offered in Newcastle UK, and the cost of obtaining the same degree from Newcastle University is significantly lower than the cost of pursuing the same degree in the UK. MBBS and BSc courses offer opportunities to study in the UK. The operating company of the branch campus (NUMed Malaysia Sdn Bhd) is wholly owned by Newcastle University, and NUMed Malaysia's goal is to provide cost-effective and highest quality healthcare plans to meet the needs of students and the regional health economy. The goal is to translate the benefits of our academic efforts into the interests of Malaysian society and the larger Asian region.
