As the largest and most renowned university in Malaysia, the University of Malaya is an important academic member of the Pacific Rim University Alliance. In the 2026 QS World University Rankings, the University of Malaya ranks 58th globally. The University of Malaya has 27249 students, including 14584 undergraduate students and 13720 graduate students. 2046 educators (lecturers) and 3594 non educators (other staff), including 198 teachers from other countries, make it the largest university in Malaysia.
