On April 11th, Shandong University of Architecture and Technology and University of Malaya held a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in Beijing. Vice Secretary and President of the Party Committee of Shandong University of Architecture and Technology, Yu Dehu, and Dato' Sri Noazuan, the President of University of Malaya, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on behalf of the two universities. Party Committee member and Vice President of Shandong University of Architecture and Technology, Wang Qingbiao, Vice President of University of Malaya, Ramis Sin Kudhip Sin, and Director of the Global Education Center (China) of University of Malaya, Liu Rong, attended the ceremony.
The leaders of the two universities reviewed the achievements made at the "Shandong - University of Malaya Exchange and Cooperation Conference" held at Shandong University of Architecture and Technology in March this year, and conducted in-depth discussions on matters such as cooperation in international education, jointly building a green building research institute, joint student training, teacher-student exchanges, and preparatory programs. Both sides unanimously expressed that they would, based on the previous cooperation, fully leverage the disciplinary and professional advantages of both universities, accelerate and expand multi-level and multi-field cooperation between the two universities, improve the quality of talent cultivation and global influence of both universities. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation marks that the cooperation between Shandong University of Architecture and Technology and University of Malaya has entered a new stage. Shandong University of Architecture and Technology will make full use of the cooperation relationship between the two universities to further promote educational opening up, coordinate "bringing in" and "going out" work, and comprehensively enhance the school's open education and international education level, contributing to promoting Sino-Malay educational cooperation.
From the above news, it can be seen that if University of Malaya wants to start admitting students next year, it needs to have a ready-made campus. Therefore, the branch campus of University of Malaya in Shandong can basically be determined to be located in the Industry-Research-Application Base of Shandong University of Architecture and Technology (Yantai). Specific information will be awaited from the official announcement.
