On February 4, 2026, the Hong Kong office of the Malaysian Association for the Promotion of Education and Culture was officially established, marking a new stage of cooperation between Malaysia and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China in the fields of education and culture. This office is an important platform established on the basis of several days of consultations and a series of cooperation intentions reached between the Malaysian Association for the Promotion of Education and Culture and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Hong Kong.

The office will use Hong Kong as an international education hub, relying on its location and resource advantages, to specialize in connecting with major universities in Hong Kong, relevant agencies of UNESCO in Hong Kong, and youth information technology training projects, and is committed to building an efficient bridge for educational cooperation between the two places. In the future, the office will focus on core areas such as academic exchanges, teacher-student visits, joint project development, and youth digital literacy cultivation, actively promoting the implementation and deepening of various educational cooperation projects between Malaysia and Hong Kong.

As an important official platform for promoting educational and cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia, the Hong Kong office will become a cutting-edge window and service hub for educational connectivity between Malaysia and Hong Kong, promoting resource sharing through pragmatic cooperation and consolidating development forces through diverse exchanges. The Association said that it will continue to promote the in-depth and multi-dimensional cooperation in the field of education and culture between the two regions, jointly cultivate outstanding talents with international vision and cross-cultural literacy, inject new vitality into the educational and cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia, and help the "the Belt and Road" educational cooperation go deep and practical.
