From flight simulators to Mount Taishan Cultural Park, the Malaysian education delegation shuttled between two universities in Shandong within a single day, forging an academic bridge across mountains and seas with four cooperation agreements.
On January 16, 2026, the Malaysian Association for Education and Cultural Promotion and its China Office, the Dongyi Cultural Industry Group, along with a delegation from the National University of Malaysia, embarked on their fourth day of a packed and fulfilling itinerary. They visited Shandong University of Aeronautics and Technology and Mount Taishan University, where cooperation discussions were held.
During the tightly scheduled itinerary, the delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges with two universities, signed four strategic cooperation agreements respectively, and experienced distinctly different campus cultures and academic specialties at both institutions.
New Runway for Aviation Education Collaboration
In the morning, the delegation arrived at Shandong Aviation University, a specialized aviation institution in Shandong Province focused on cultivating applied talents in the civil aviation sector. During the discussions, both parties primarily explored the potential for collaborative curriculum development and faculty-student exchanges in disciplines such as aviation operations management and aircraft maintenance engineering.
As a comprehensive university, the National University of Malaysia complements its strengths in engineering and technology with the specialized expertise of its College of Aviation. After signing a strategic cooperation agreement, the delegation specifically toured the university's flight simulation training cabin and avionics laboratory, among other teaching and practical facilities, offering high praise for the institution's practical training conditions.
This collaboration marks the first formal partnership between a Malaysian educational institution and a Chinese aviation-focused university, laying the foundation for future professional exchanges in the field of aviation education.

In the afternoon, the delegation proceeded to Mount Taishan University. Located at the foot of Mount Taishan, the university has a long-standing tradition in teacher education and has also developed distinctive disciplines such as cultural tourism and art dissemination. The discussions primarily focused on exchanges in teacher education, research on Taishan culture, and the training of international students.

After signing strategic cooperation agreements with the Malaysian Association for Education and Cultural Promotion and the University of Malaysia, the delegation visited the campus to engage in face-to-face exchanges with teachers and students, gaining an in-depth understanding of the school's efforts in local cultural heritage and international education. This immersive approach to communication marked a first in this trip, reflecting both parties' emphasis on humanistic education collaboration.
As the first normal university visited during this trip, the collaboration with Taishan University will enrich the disciplinary dimensions of China-Malaysia educational exchanges, particularly in the fields of educational theory and cultural studies.
Deepening and Expanding Multilateral Cooperation
Completing visits and signings at two universities with vastly different characteristics within a single day demonstrates the Malaysian delegation's clear intent to pursue diversified and distinctive cooperation.
From the economic and trade education on the first day to the comprehensive university collaboration on the second day, the energy sector对接 on the third day, and today's joint focus on aviation applications and humanities teacher training, the tightly scheduled itinerary has built a cooperative network spanning multiple educational fields.
Tomorrow, the delegation will travel to the last two stops of their intensive visit to Shandong - Shandong University of Technology and Shandong University of Architecture and Technology, to conclude their visit. With the accumulation of cooperation agreements, a three-dimensional and diverse framework for China Malaysia education cooperation is gradually taking shape in the land of Qilu.
